Sustainable Value Chains: Aquaponics in Colombia, funded by Danida (2017-20)

Project consultant, senior aquaponics expert: The aim of the project is to facilitate the transition from open pond aquaculture of cachama (pacu) and pirarucu (Arapaima) to feed based production, ideally using locally available raw materials or by-products by implementation of recirculation technology, and aquaponics production systems. Furthermore, the aim of the project is to facilitate the transition into aquaculture by engaging former FARC guerrillas in liaison with UN verification Mission as part of Colombia’s’ fragile peace agreement.
