The blue economy
Dr. Paul Rye Kledal is at the forefront of R&D on closed loop RAS (Recirculating Aquaculture Systems). This goes in regards to running commercial fresh- and saltwater aquaponics with synchronously grown plant cultures targeting both consumer outlets and industrial markets within pharmacy and bioenergy. Likewise, algae and seaweed production connected to RAS is part of his research curriculum and new business oriented endeavors.
The green economy
Dr. Paul Rye Kledal has extensive knowledge in training and capacity building of stakeholders along (organic)agro–food chains organizing relevant workshops, guiding with inclusive policy advice and leaving a self-progressing learning environment. This goes in regards to both classic rural settings as well as new modes of farming in the urban environment.

Dr. Paul Rye Kledal has more than 20 years of professional experience as an agricultural economist & international development/PhD, providing evidence based data analysis, strategic policy advice towards market-driven value chains within sustainable aquaculture, aquaponics, organic agriculture and urban farming. Likewise, project management/team Leading, capacity building of producer organizations and liaison/reporting to Ministries, FAO and international development agencies, is part of his curriculum.
